Why Midtown Sacramento? Many have asked why we have chosen this location for the last 12 years. It’s a perfect midway point between the Bay Area and Tahoe, where many of our wedding and corporate clientele have events or are located. Since your session is sometimes a destination or a stopping point, we wanted to be in a convenient and quaint spot that offered convenience and local texture.
We didn't want to just be a studio; we wanted to be a hub where design, beauty, and community intersect with the urban visual tapestry of Sacramento.

The Foundation: Grounding Down at Ritual Wellness House
We have a fabulous new wellness center on the first floor of the building! Creativity needs space to breathe. We are incredibly fortunate to be located directly above Ritual Wellness House, a sanctuary dedicated to movement, mindfulness, and connection.
Ritual offers a diverse calendar of classes, including yoga, dance, and various workshops. They also host a Wellness Happy Hour in their serene tea room. It is a strictly phone-free zone, creating a rare opportunity for locals to gather and connect without the distraction of notifications.
Make sure if you schedule a wednesday studio session, you stick around to unwind and have some tea downstairs on your way out!
The Polish: Confidence with Beauty Stylist Lisa Massey
Looking your best is tied to feeling your best. To help our clients step in front of the camera with ultimate confidence, we collaborate with the incredibly talented beauty stylist, Lisa Massey.
Lisa doesn't just "do makeup"; she curates looks that enhance our clients' natural features while aligning with the creative vision of the shoot. Having an expert stylist as part of our creative extended family streamlines the production process and ensures that our subjects feel pampered and prepared. The environment inspires the outcome. We have cultivated a space at GVP Studios that balances rugged urban character with organic warmth.
Both inside and outside the studio, we boast brick walls galore. This timeless architectural feature provides the perfect, textured backdrop for everything from gritty portraiture to warm, inviting brand interviews.
Step just outside, and you are met with our Courtyard. Filled with lush, Mediterranean foliage that thrives year-round, it offers a distinct visual contrast to the industrial brick—perfect for outdoor headshots or lifestyle content with a European feel.
The Tangible Side: Our Design & Print Center
We’re big believers that your photos deserve a life off the screen. That’s why our design center and print services are such a huge part of the equation for us. The moment you walk into our entry room, you’re greeted by the tactile side of GVP—the part where your vision actually becomes a physical reality.
We’ve curated this space so you can see and feel the quality of what we create before you even place an order. Our wall gallery is there to give you a sense of scale and impact, while our album samples are ready for you to flip through so you can appreciate the weight of the paper and the richness of the ink.
If you’re looking for something truly bespoke, we have swatch samples available for all our custom orders. Being able to touch the materials and see the colors in person makes the design process so much more personal (and fun). We’re here to help you bridge the gap between "great digital file" and "stunning heirloom art," ensuring your favorite moments end up on your walls, not just buried in a gallery link.

While we love our studio home, we recognize that Sacramento itself is our greater canvas. We thrive in our urban surroundings, constantly inspired by the juxtaposition of color and texture found in local street art and historic architecture.
