Spring Sessions Are Filling Fast — Sacramento's Favorite Season for Photography Is Here

If you have been waiting for the perfect time to book a family portrait, maternity session, or engagement shoot in the Sacramento area, that time is right now. May brings everything a photographer dreams of: warm golden light, green rolling hills, and wildflowers still in full bloom across the valley.

At GVP, we serve families, couples, and individuals throughout Sacramento, Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Davis, Elk Grove, and Roseville. This time of year we are out in the field more than ever, and the results speak for themselves.

Outdoor Portrait Locations in May and June

Private Properties: Iris and Lavender Farms

Spring in the Sacramento Valley is fleeting. The lavender and iris farms are open soon, offering limited evening golden hour appointments for photo sessions on the property. These spots book out quickly and the blooms are typically done by mid to late June. If a lavender session has been on your list, contact us today.

We are also scheduling family sessions, maternity shoots, and engagement photography at outdoor locations throughout the region, including lake and beach sessions and travel shoots to the Bay Area for ocean photography. Whether you are in Roseville, Folsom, or El Dorado Hills, we come to you — or meet you somewhere beautiful.

GVP Studios is based in historic Midtown Sacramento, where our studio offers a warm, flexible alternative when weather calls for it. But in May, we are mostly chasing the light.

Studio Hours: early birds

Summer hours begin soon. Morning sessions start as early as 8:30 AM, and we wrap by early afternoon so our evenings stay open for outdoor work in that long, warm summer glow.

For families, maternity, engagement, or wedding photography in Sacramento and surrounding communities — we are here, we are ready, and we would love to make something beautiful with you.

Book your session at gvpstudios.com or reach out directly. May is going fast.
