Bay Area and Coastal Travel Sessions Sacramento summers can push past 100 degrees, which is exactly why July is the month we start talking about travel sessions. A trip out to the Bay Area or East Bay for family photos gives you ocean air, marine layer light, and a backdrop that looks nothing like your usual Sacramento portrait locations. Baker Beach, Santa Cruz, and quieter East Bay parks all photograph beautifully in the early morning or that late afternoon window before sunset when the fog has burned off but the heat hasn't peaked.
